Could the (ISLAND) of great britain repell a great usa invasion?

What a retarded question. The US, Ireland, Britain, Canada and possibily Austrailia are like one big family. I seriously doubt there'll never be an armed conflict between them/amongst them again (with the notable exception of "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland).
